I love museums! We went to the museum in Shanghai (other reference include museums in Beijing and Taiwan). Do time yourself for the English guided tours, awesome and usually free. I think that museums provide a glimpse into life in the past and how the perception of beauty has evolved. I really can't tell the value of an item, a plain plate can be more valuable than an intricately designed one, so I guess, many factors come into play when valuating an item. I'm sure these are just the tip of the iceberg, imagine the treasures amassed by private collectors around the world or hidden in storage!
